LEONIE KAPPMEYER

is a multilingual singer, actress and dancer based in London, UK. 

In 2022, she earned her master’s degree in Musical Theatre from The Royal Academy of Music, receiving a DipRAM award for portraying the role of Margaret Johnson in THE LIGHT IN THE PIAZZA.
She followed a second study in classical singing at the vocal studies department of the Royal Academy of Music.

 

Before moving to London, Leonie studied Musical Theatre at Fontys School of Fine and Performing Arts in the Netherlands under the wing of Edward Hoepelman. 

She received her Bachelor of Music with top marks for her final performance in SONGS FOR A NEW WORLD and was nominated for the ‘Jacques de Leeuw prize for young top talent'. 

Leonie plays the violin, the piano and the guitar. She loves and appreciates all different forms and aspects of musical theatre and seeks to always broaden her artistry.

 

Originally from Germany, Leonie is fluent in English, Dutch and German and she enjoys performing in various countries in Europe and in the UK.
Her first professional engagement brought her to Dublin, Ireland, where she originated the role of Lorna in the new Irish musical ‘Sisters’. 

In 2023 and 2024 she played Sally Bowles in the hit musical CABARET in Germany.

Since January 2024 she is playing Christine Daaé in Cameron Mackintosh's THE PHANTOM OF THE OPERA at the Raimund Theatre in Vienna.
